The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia has published a new rating based on the results of 2016. At the end of the year, the list of ‘strong innovators’ with the most notable indicators included 11 regions.

Lipetsk region in the general ranking took 18th place and settled in the zone of ‘medium-strong innovators’. It is worth noting that during this year local manufacturers have made one of the most powerful steps in Russia – plus 13 positions.

The rating was based on 29 indicators within the framework of three sections – ‘Research and development’, ‘Innovation activity’, ‘Social and economic conditions of innovation activity’; the innovation of this year were six additional indicators, combined into another semantic block - the section ‘Innovative activity of the region’.
